Using the app when the connection is weak or non-existent

The Packtic BULK PILOT app allows operation in cases where a reliable internet connection is not available inside the store.

In this case, we recommend that you:

  1. First, connect to the app using a reliable network connection (outside the store).
This will preload all the data needed to use the app.
The cloud icon in the top right corner cloud_done indicates that the connection is established.
  2. Switch to “airplane mode”. The cloud icon indicates with a cross close that you are offline.
  3. When in store, perform traceability operations, cleaning, etc.
A red dot is added to the cloud icon, indicating that you have performed operations that need to be synchronised with the server.
  4. When you are finished and have a stable internet connection outside the store, exit “airplane mode”.
Local data is synchronised with the server automatically.
The cloud icon indicates with the symbol sync that synchronisation is in progress. Once synchronisation is complete, the cloud icon returns to its original shape cloud_done.

When offline, it is not possible to fill an empty dispenser when you do not have a shop catalogue (this does not apply to corners). We therefore recommend that you set up the shop catalogue for greater ease of use.

Traceability and photos

In the case of the mobile app, the mechanism for recognising the batch number and the best-before date/use-by date is different.

When adding a new bag, it is recommended that you take two photos of the label:

  • a first photo focused on the batch number and the best-before date/use-by date
    • a first window then allows you to choose the batch number from the detected texts
    • a second window suggests the best before date/use by date
  • a second photo of the entire label to ensure complete traceability

The two photos are saved in the traceability logbook.
